Kids Bike Library

Borrow a quality kids’ bike, swap it as they grow!

After the success of our trial Kids’ Bike Library, funded by the

£1,000 grant we received from Bro Dyfi Community Renewables

we were then awarded

£20,000 of National Lottery funding in summer 2025

This support has enabled us to expand the scheme and purchase a wide range of high-quality, lightweight children’s bikes, making cycling accessible and enjoyable for more local families.

You can find out more about the scheme below...

How it works

The Seiclo Dyfi Kids’ Bike Library makes cycling affordable, accessible, and fun for families across Machynlleth and the Dyfi Valley.
For a small monthly cost, your child can enjoy a quality, lightweight bike — and swap it as they grow.

Membership costs £4 per month, payable by direct debit when you collect your child’s bike.
If you’re able to contribute a little more, your support helps us keep the scheme accessible for all, regardless of income.

Every six months, we’ll invite you to bring your bike back for a free safety check and service.
This keeps the bikes in top condition and ensures every child rides safely.
We’ll send a reminder when your check-up is due.

Children grow fast — and so should their bikes! As and when your child starts to outgrow their bike, just get in touch. We’ll arrange a swap for the next size up (subject to availability) so they can keep riding comfortably and confidently.

All our bikes are serviced before being loaned out.
Normal wear and tear (like tyres or brake pads) is included and handled at your six-month check-up.
